Common questions
The short answers.
What happens when I exceed a cap?
When your project's monthly users or events go past your current bracket cap, you auto-upgrade to the next bracket from the start of the next billing month. We email your team admins before the change. No overage fees — you pay the new bracket's flat monthly price.
What counts as an MAU?
A monthly active user is any distinct end-user (by user_id or anonymous_id) that sends at least one event in a calendar month. We dedupe across platforms, so the same person on web + iOS still counts as 1 MAU.
What counts as an event?
Anything our SDKs send: pageviews, clicks, custom events, push tokens, screen captures. Internal SDK heartbeats and health pings are free.
Which currency will I be billed in?
We auto-detect your country and show prices in your local currency where available; otherwise we default to USD billing. For GBP, CHF, AUD or other local-currency invoicing on Growth and Enterprise, write to sales@kixo.io.
Are prices inclusive of tax?
No. All listed prices exclude VAT, GST, sales tax and any other applicable taxes. Invoices add the right rate based on your billing address.
Can I run multiple projects on one plan?
Yes. Each project carries its own MAU/events bracket — they don't pool. Most teams keep their staging project on Free and put their production project on the right Growth bracket.
Where is my data stored?
By default, US (AWS us-east-1). EU residency (eu-central-1) is available on Growth and Enterprise. Custom regions and self-hosted options ship under Enterprise.
GDPR, DPA, security?
Yes. We sign DPAs on every paid plan, support SCCs for international transfers, and run encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). SOC 2 Type II is in progress — write security@kixo.io for the latest report.
Refunds & cancellation?
Cancel any time from the workspace. We refund unused months on annual plans, prorated.
